The next step will be exploration – of you as individuals and a family, of the impact of your environment, your perceptions of yourselves, your relationships, and your world.
Once we’ve done that, we’ll move into resolving the situation.
If you feel like you aren’t ready for individual therapy, don’t want to talk about your own problems, family therapy is a good place to start.
When you strengthen your support system, you feel better knowing you have a safety net. You’ll need that to do personal work.
You may even find that it complements your individual therapy quite well.
You’ll get stronger and more resilient.
No matter what comes next, you’ll be able to handle it. You’ll know you can depend on each other when things go south. You won’t spin out of control anymore.
